GPU Benchmarks I
Looking across the workloads based on professional applications such as Maya, Catia V6 and Siemens NX 8.0, which are all run primarily on the GPU, GeForce GTX 1080 TI wins out in the first, loses the second, and is hammered in the third.
Quadro pricing is usually significantly higher not because it has better hardware than GeForce - that is patently not the case here - but because of the extra optimisations present in the Quadro's drivers. The architecturally inferior P4000 is 15x faster than GTX 1080 Ti in the Siemens test.
If that happens to be your main workstation-based workload, you really don't have much of a choice than to go with Quadro.
