Is there a caveat to MSI's fanless design? We're afraid so. During use, CPU performance is often limited to as little as 1.8GHz in order to keep temperature down to an acceptable level.

Two systems in our line-up are outfitted with the Core i5-7200U processor - Gigabyte's Brix S and MSI's Cubi 3 Silent - but the latter is well off the pace. In the multi-threaded Cinebench and Handbrake tests, the Core i5-powered Cubi 3 Silent benchmarks below the Core i3-powered Cubi 2.
