There's no doubt about it, Core i7-8700K ticks a lot of the right boxes. Single-thread performance remains best in class, and improved multi-threaded capabilities bridge the gap between previous-generation parts and premium X299. Operating at 5GHz across all cores is merely the icing on the Core i7 cake.
