The quad-core, 65W Intel Core i7-7700 is the preferred choice for small performance PCs and has already featured in the Asus ROG GR8 II and the MSI Trident 3 Arctic.

Performance on the Asus ROG G20CI is almost in line with expectations, but the fractionally slower PiFast result can likely be attributed to the use of single-channel memory. The Handbrake result, meanwhile, is a notch lower due to throttling - the CPU eventually reduced speed to 3.6GHz across all cores during this demanding video-encode workload.
