A single drive bay and an energy-efficient CPU keeps power consumption down to a minimal amount. 15W during use and 8W when the disk spins down is hardly going to make a dent in the 'leccy bill, and though a built-in power scheduler can be used to shut down the NAS on a user-defined schedule, home users should have no qualms in keeping the DS115 running 24/7.
