Benchmarks: Iometer and File Copy
Earlier NAS solutions built around PowerPC processors struggled to make good use of a Gigabit Ethernet interface, but the single-core APM 86491 at the heart of the N2310 is a marked improvement.
The entry-level Thecus NAS was pushed hard when hammered with small file transfers in our 64KB Iometer write test, but it fared surprisingly well in our File Copy Benchmark. The NAS was able to accept 8.83GB of mixed-size files at a rate of 82MB/s, which is as quick as we've seen for a server at this price point.
