While the M500 isn't able to battle it out with the best consumer SSDs on the market, various performance enhancements have made the drive a much better all-rounder. Our demanding Iometer test can take its toll on lesser drives, but both M500 models fare well. The gains over the ageing Crucial M4 are significant to say the least.
