Iometer
Connection limitations don't appear to be an inhibitor in the drive-pummelling Iometer test. Interestingly enough, the mSATA ADATA drive comes out top.
We've presented the numbers to provide comparative performance on a desktop PC equipped with an mSATA slot. However, there's really no reason to use such an electrical conduit because standard SATA 6Gbps, which is ubiquitous, is better.
Desktop-orientated mSATA drives have been put forward as useful for caching purposes, where they combine with a larger mechanical drive as a front-end, but the price of 2.5in SSDs, which is lower than the mSATA equivalents, generally quashes this argument.
