Benchmark: PCMark Vantage
PCMark Vantage simulates real-world usage scenarios, and we've selected three benchmarks that matter to the everyday home user; Windows Startup, Application Loading and Gaming.
We were expecting the 128GB Octane to perform reasonably well, but perhaps not quite that well. The drive's strong read speed, ultra-low latency and ability to deliver consistent performance at low queue depths with compressible or incompressible data makes it ideal in all three scenarios.
And that's very much the idea. OCZ isn't attempting to set new records with the Octane, it simply claims that the drive will deliver "a superior user experience and improved application performance."
