Benchmark: Crystal Disk Mark

The Crystal Disk Mark test hammers the drive with repeated transfers of incompressible data that can't be sped along by the SandForce controller's built-in DuraWrite technology - an on-the-fly compression algorithm that reduces the actual size of data written to the drive.

As a result, SandForce drives tend to take a performance hit in this benchmark, particularly those armed with affordable asynchronous memory. Patriot's Pyro and Corsair's Force Series 3 are once again hard to separate, but there's now a big gap between the Pyro and its premium sibling, the Wildfire.
