ATTO Disk Benchmark provides a best-case scenario for disk throughput, and Patriot gets off to a decent enough start. As expected, it isn't the speediest drive on offer, but read and write speeds of over 250MB/s and 200MB/s, respectively, are a healthy return.
Cost is a niggling issue, though. If you're willing to spend around £1.3-per-gigabyte, older SandForce drives - including Patriot's own 120GB Inferno - offer greater bandwidth at around the same price.
