SPECwpc takes a lot longer to complete than the benchmarks on the previous page.
Another decent increase on Blue SN550, but perhaps the DRAM-less architecture is more prone to lower performance when smashed by longer, more intensive benchmarks such as SPECwpc.
There's no need to cover the two chips with a dedicated heatsink, and we imagine as most boards feature specific M.2 cooling these days, temperature shan't be an issue. Placing this drive under the test board's heatsink reduces full-load temps to 67°C.
Most SSDs start off at their peak speeds and then reduce performance once the cache has been filled. Writing out a 161GB folder comprising nine files shows that Blue SN570 cranks up to around 2.4GB/s but drops to 600MB/s or so once 20GB has been written. That's no problem if moving a couple of movies or hundreds of photos over, as they'll fit into the cache, but do understand that long-term performance is not the same as what's written on the box. Peak is peak for a reason.
Blue SN570 keeps to this 600MB/s for the remainder of the test. Going further, filling the entire drive translates to an average write speed of 642MB/s.
