Benchmarks II
Our second test takes a real-world approach by copying two large directories weighing in at a total of 12.3GB. Performance is up there with the best the first time around, but the second run, where caching comes into play, highlights a small deficit over high-end drives equipped with a large DRAM buffer. Still, the performance uplift over a SATA drive is significant.
WD clearly knows how to make a fast SSD. The goal this time around has been to create an NVMe drive that's both affordable and quick enough to warrant upgrading from a SATA solution. Blue SN500 fits the bill.
