Introduction
This is the second part of my magical Open Source Odyssey, which began here. If you haven't read it yet, I suggest you do so: it covers some of the motivation behind Open Source, and explains a few key concepts surrounding running open source software on your system. This part, however, is far more hands-on; by the end of the guide, you should (hopefully) have a functioning Linux system installed onto your desktop PC.
