Performance on an Intel machine

Here's the Intel Core i5 661 system when idling in Windows 7 for 10 minutes. The LoVo modules pull two watts less than modules with the same frequency and latency but with a 1.65V rating that's inputted in to the BIOS.

The 'regular' set can match the LoVo by dropping the memory-speed down to 1,280MHz and using 1.50V, instead of 1.65V.  Remember that the CPU speed stays the same, at 3,360MHz.

Now we load up the CPU and modules by running Prime95 v25.9 on all four cores using the 'blend' test. The LoVo now pulls four watts less than the 1.65V set.

Lastly, we keep an eye on peak power-draw whilst running the Far Cry 2 benchmark. There's nothing in this, and the power-draw is higher than Prime95's because the GPU has been called into action.
