Hiper HSU-3S350

Like the Tagan review, the review title gives the 3S350's basic load spec away. It's a 350W peak load PSU, sustained load sitting just over 320W.

As you can see the PSU doesn't accept a universal input voltage, rather a tailored input voltage range for the country of sale. UIV support would have been nice, but it's not essential. An on/off switch is essential however, and while it would have been nice to see it covered up in some way, to stop accidental operation, it's not required.

The fan guard is simply gold coloured, but the end connectors for the supply are gold plated for better conductivity. Like all low-noise power supplies, the fan speed is controlled depending on load an heat, in this case digitally, the PSU starting up in high-speed mode, dropping to low-speed almost instantly and then only raising speed if there's sustained heat production it needs to remove.

There's no other fan in the HPU-3S350, the single fan deemed enough to keep the unit cool at all times.

The supply arrives nicely bound with a triplet of elastic bands holding everything together. 400W+ versions of the HPU-series get individual braiding on some of the other lines, to complement the braiding on the main ATX connector, but it's missed out on the lower power versions.
