Qnap's hardware is efficient during use, drawing only 14 watts from the wall under load and that figure drops to 12 watts when idle. What's good to know is that the small internal fan runs very quiet. It can just about be heard, but with no mechanical hard-disk noise, you'd do well to notice the TBS-453A in an office environment.
