Power Consumption and Noise

An obvious upside to fewer bays is that power consumption is reduced even further, with the DS220+ pulling just five watts from the wall after the Seagate IronWolf drives have entered standby. The mechanical drives are clearly audible under load - there's a small amount of rubber on Synology's drive trays but not enough to effectively dampen vibration - but all three NAS units are nice and quiet when the disks are sat still.
