Brightness and contrast
The Acer panel delivers an extremely high maximum brightness which is useful given that matte coatings have a tendency to look dimmer than glossy counterparts.
The contrast ratio meets our expectations for the quality of the TN panel used and the white points stays within a respectable margin of 6,500 Kelvin.
Brightness uniformity is less spectacular with up to 16 percent variation across the panel. The corners do appear a little dimmer than the centre but, as mentioned previously, this could just be TN viewing angles at play.
Input Latency
The total latency, which includes input and panel processing, sits in a fairly average place given Acer's claims of a 1ms panel response time. Tinkering with the overdrive settings didn't make a noticeable difference to our results. 22ms is still good enough for consumer gaming but we'd like to see a figure closer to 10ms for eSports usage.
Power Consumption
Power consumption starts off surprisingly high due to the eye-baking 370 nits of brightness. Once the brightness is brought down to a more reasonable level of 120 nits, power consumption ends up being a paltry 20W.
