Brightness and Contrast

Given its HDR ambitions, it is no surprise to find that brightness, black levels and contrast ratio are all excellent. Almost 500 nits brightness is impressive, and as per the Nvidia G-Sync Ultimate certification, the panel can achieve peak luminance of 1,000 nits for small areas of the screen or a brief full-screen flash. These credentials are key to delivering a convincing HDR experience, though if true blacks and otherworldly contrast are what you're after, no VA panel will come close to an OLED.
