Core i7-6950X's $1,569 cost is scary at two points. Firstly, before you make the purchase, and secondly, when you decide to pump a little more voltage through its veins. This isn't a chip you want to risk, so we've limited power to a conservative 1.3V and raised the multiplier in x1 increments until the system becomes unstable. MSI's board managed 4.3GHz, matching the Asus, but both systems ran into bother at 4.4GHz.
