What we're really measuring is the intrinsic speed of the Plextor M.2 SSD based on older technology. Future reviews will use a PCIe Gen x4 Samsung drive instead.
The SATA test is more of a confirmation that the chipset is working properly.
USB 3.0 testing is a positive. Again, with USB 3.1 becoming more and more popular, the next round of tests will specifically test each motherboard's capabilities in that regard.
