ASUS' board enjoys the slightest of leads in our raytracing benchmark, although just how significant is a 0.2% lead?.
A Canterwood is a Canterwood is a Canterwood.
Perhaps DFI's latest BIOS needs a touch more tweaking. Choosing between these two Canterwood boards is like deciding between RAM modules that are rated at the same speeds and timings. It all comes down to personal choice and cost.
The same 36GB Western Digital Raptor drive was reckoned to burst at 52.6mbps on ASUS' P4R800-V Deluxe motherboard. DFI's on-chip ICH5R SATA controller produced a result of 98.4mbps. It's hard to fault the Canterwood as a chipset logic. It's also hard to fault DFI's performance and implementation.
