CPU Tests
LAME MP3 encoding is our first CPU test. All it needs is a fast FPU to really fly, P4 tends to dominate here whenever it's wheeled out for comparison, but what we're looking for is for A7N8X-E to stick with AN7. Here's the graph.3.2GHz of clock speed bests 2.2GHz and 512KB on the Socket A systems and 2GHz and 1MB on the Athlon 64. Both Socket A systems are matched, what we wanted to see.
Kribibench is a software only 3D renderer, making no use of the 3D capabilities of modern graphics cards. It's a fine CPU test.
A slight win over AN7, but nothing to write home about. It's as strong as Socket A performance is ever going to get really, with XP3200+ under the hood. Athlon 64 and P4 show both Socket A boards how it's done.
Realstorm now, a test that favours the AMD route to performance nirvana.
More performance parity, the win going to AN7 this time. The ASUS is working fine, all the AMD systems show the P4 how to do Realstorm. What about 3D-based tests?
