Benchmarks III
UT2003 2206 Demo's Flyby now. Remember that a 9800 Pro is hogging the AGP slot.
What impresses us most is not the fact that the MSI is a little faster than the very early EPoX board, but rather just how close it is now getting to the Socket A performance champion, the nForce2 Ultra 400. If VIA and its partners can eke out a little more performance from the KT600 and keep the price at current levels, it will become an attractive alternative to the NVIDIA chipset. The MSI is stacked with numerous extras and performance is more than adequate. The dark cloud on the horizon has to be NVIDIA's very own single-channel nForce2.
The drag race that is Quake III v1.30 1024x768 HQ returns a respectable 325FPS for the MSI board.
