BIOS

Recent MSI BIOSes have shown a company willingness to cater for voltage freaks.

Pretty standard AMIBIOS configuration screen. These have proved to be easy to navigate and fairly robust.

The frequency subscreen is simplicity itself. Just have a look at the component-burning voltages on offer. There's absolutely no reason to apply such outlandish settings, even with the very best cooling. The KT6 Delta does appear to under-volt a little on almost every line, so having too much voltage is never a bad thing. The CPU's FSB runs from 100FSB to a rather ambitious 280FSB, all in 1MHz increments. The ability to manually key in frequencies would be nice. CPU ratios go from 8.5x - 15x, however the board didn't unlock two test Bartons and a standard XP. Board unlocking is a pretty major selling feature in the minds of enthusiasts; we hope that a newer BIOS will oblige.

Probably more variables than one really needs. It's simply a case of set it and see. Quality RAM should be able to run with aggressive settings.

The features section is split into two constituent parts. On-chip extras are on the main screen, whilst PCI-based functions reside in the 'Onboard PCI controller' subscreen.

The hardware monitoring section appeared to report slightly high readings for both system and CPU temps. DDR, AGP, and chipset voltages should really have been included in this important section, really.
