System Benchmarks - I

Let's try some system based benchmarks that never hit the graphics card, to see what we can wring from the Leadtek. Don't expect anything that we haven't seen already however, you have been warned.

SETI first, a test that hits the memory subsytem and processor (especially any floating point hardware). The lower the score the better, to see which system can rip through our stock 0.471ARA WU. I apologise for that graph being too exciting for words.

MP3 encoding now, something that's almost entirely CPU bound. Memory settings have little to no effect, all the data is pumped to the CPU and it spins on there until it's done. Yet another exciting graph where the AMD systems based on the same base hardware perform like chalk and chalk.

Pifast is all about low latency accesses to your memory modules and good CPU performance. It's indicative of scientific application performance, so if those kind of applications make you weak at the knees, pay attention. This is a traditional AMD forte, and the two nForce2 Ultra 400 based system do not disappoint, showing the Canterwood just how it should be done. At least I tested the board properly at the right settings.
