Benchmarks I

Let the benchmarks commence with SiSoft SANDRA's unbuffered memory benchmark.

We'll ignore the AMD-based machines' results here. The double-pumped AMD FSB doesn't lend itself to this benchmark. The EPoX 4PDA2+, however, does better than expected. Springdale boards are usually around 200 MB/s lower than a Canterwood's.

Pifast is a real-world indication of how memory bandwidth and latency affect overall performance. A sub-63s timing, albeit with the help of 3226MHz, is impressively quick. The DFI Canterwood is a decent example of that chipset, so the EPoX's performance is even more impressive.

Running a little faster on the CPU helps the EPoX to top spot in this CPU-intensive benchmark.

SETI now. Time is in hours, minutes and seconds. A 0.417WU is used.

Extremely close to the quick Canterwood again. O.K, so the inflated FSB will help it a little, but one cannot get away from the fact that the EPoX Springdale is a fast, fast board.
