Jetway Polaris 400A - 2

BIOS

After the excitement of the Gigabyte BIOS, I bet you're wondering if the Jetway has more stuff to gawp at. It doesn't. Normal KT400A action here, but here's the Jetway highlights.

CPU voltage adjust from 1.625V to 1.85V, pretty much the norm over all the boards tested. 1.5V to 1.6V Vagp, a much more sensible range compared to some of the others, and Vdimm from 2.5V to 2.8V.

There's no multiplier adjust in the Jetway's BIOS, instead, on compatible unlocked CPU's, you manipulate multiplier via a DIP switch block between the two pairs of IDE ports.

Bundle

Bundle wise, the Jetway shores up OK, arriving with Serial ATA data and power cables (one of each), the driver CD, manual and finally a digital audio header with optical and coax output via SP-DIF. Nothing exciting, and a distinct lack of PATA and floppy cables, however I'm assured that they were just missing from the press sample and will be in the shipping bundle, 2 PATA and 1 floppy. The hazards of non-retail samples.

Manual

It's nothing great, but like the others, it's an easy to read affair with all the information easy to locate and digest. Just what you need from a manual, nothing more, nothing less.

Midway Conclusion

Middle of the road in terms of presentation, features and the bundle. We'll (hopefully) soon get to see whether the performance was the same. Onto the second last board, from MSI.
