EPoX 8K9A9I - 2

BIOS

Without wanting to repeat myself, it's just an AWARD BIOS with EPoX's own tweaking options. All the KT400A common stuff like V-Link rate adjust, the usual raft of memory timings and thing like power saving are all present and correct. As far as EPoX specific options go, here's what you get: CPU ratio adjust in the BIOS, up to 2V adjust on the processor in 2 ranges, 1.4 to 1.85 in 0.025V increments and 1.85 to 2.0 in 0.05V increments and Vdimm from 2.5V to 3.2V (ouch, poor DIMM's) in 0.1V steps. No AGP voltage adjust on the EPoX, probably a good thing.

Bundle

EPoX haven't gone nuts with the bundle either, just like the bare feature set. You get, in the usual brightly patterned EPoX box, a nifty quick start guide to get you up and running without having to look at the manual, said manual, the driver CD with some useful software (Ghost, notably), the ATX I/O shield and a single 80-pin ATA cable. A solitary, fairly short, floppy cable rounds things off. No wacky extras, just enough (barely) to get you going. A second ATA cable would have been nice though.

Manual

More mediocrity I'm afraid, although just what kind of excitement and insight should one expect from a motherboard manual? It's easy to read, navigate and the information needed most is all there.

Midway Conclusion

Nothing exciting on any count. The 3.2V Vdimm adjust stands out for memory torture, but that's about it.
