Presentation and Bundle
This Springdale arrives with the moniker of Deluxe. Deluxe, by very definition, should give you the proverbial kitchen sink. Let's see how ASUS' Springdale fares.
The same packaging as the Canterwood version, albeit with a slight name change. It all looks professional enough.
We like ASUS' labels as they take the work out of describing all of the board's pertinent features.
You'll also be unsurprised to learn that the Springdale verison offers the exact bundle found on the Canterwood version. The ASUS-branded cables are a nice touch, presented in black. A well-written main is provided too. Much like the Canterwood version, I felt as if a more in-depth look at setting up various RAID formations was warranted.
Two S-ATA cables (without power cables), a custom I/O shield and a Intervideo software package (WinDVD 2000, WinCoder, WinRip, and WinProducer) round up the P4P800's bundle. The driver CD, obviously, has all the necessary drivers and utilities. ASUS should have bundled further USB2.0 and FireWire cables. The Deluxe moniker of this board deserved those add-ons. There's little point in specifying numerous USB2.0 and FireWire ports if only a few are going to be usable at any one time.
