Benchmarks III

On to gaming and, as always, we'll being proceeding with 3DMark 2001SE. Remember, it's extremely sensitive to bandwidth efficiency.

The P4X400-powered SOYO does quite well here, just trailing the SiS648 motherboard by a few marks. I'm sure that if both were running at the same CPU speed, we would see a probably tie in their respective scores. If you want to compare your results to that of the DRAGON's, head over here.

Let's see if it can keep up as we tax it with Serious Sam 2. Benchmarking the Valley of the Jaguar Timedemo contained in the public demo. 1024x768x32, Normal preferences.

No matter how many times I ran this benchmark, the SOYO's score remained locked between 93.5 and 94.4fps, some way off the 100FPS I was expecting. A little disappointing to say the least.

On to another benchmark which hurts the subsystem in Comanche 4. Wide expanses and lots of geometry here. 1024x768x32 again.

Neither DDR platform distinguish themselves here, but neither are poor. You'd be hard-pressed to tell the difference between the platforms from a purely visual perspective.
