Performance Conclusion

To be fair to the NV7-133R, I didn't subject it to the most indepth performance analysis for a few reasons. First, with the GeForce3 Ti500 gone, I didn't have a broad range of systems to directly compare it against that I'd looked at before with the trusty Gainward. So with the Ti4200 in the system, I only had the EPoX 8K3A and KT333 to compare it against.

That said, the Abit passed with flying colours. While the performance was oh so slightly behind the EPoX, it is still measurably ahead of KT266A. Abit seem to enjoy producing boards with this chipset since even though their target market is the overclocker and enthusiast and knowing that the nForce doesn't overclock well and euqipping the boards with less overclocking features than their other boards, they still produce the boards.

nForce' strength lies in its out of the box performance. For quite a long time, this little debut chipset from NVIDIA has been the quickest out of the box for Socket A AMD system. The stock performance is really rather good and while it has just been edged out by KT333, maybe that dethronement wont last for long. nForce 615 and 620 are due any time now and I expect it to become the quickest AMD chipset yet again.

Overall, the Abit's performance was strong. Not everyone wants to overclock so for those people, the NV7-133R is a good choice performance wise.
