Benchmarks: CPU
This is our first taste of quad-core mobile Broadwell, and the Core i7-5700HQ doesn't disappoint. Intel's fifth-generation CPU cores are privy to a number of tweaks that are expected to marginally increase instruction throughput per clock when compared to equivalent Haswell parts.
Such advancements aren't felt in the single-threaded PiFast benchmark, but the performance gain is realised in the multi-threaded Cinebench and Handbrake tests. The Aorus X5 easily races past the other laptops in our line-up and delivers the strongest CPU performance we've seen in a 15.6in mobile device.
