Laptops' overall speed is often compromised by slow hard drives. Gateway's decision to use a 5400RPM hurts performance, and the difference between using it and a desktop-based system, outfitted with a spacious 7200RPM drive, is immediately obvious. We'd sacrifice capacity for speed, especially for a 2.5in form factor.
