3DMark is the latest version of this hugely-popular synthetic benchmark. Making use of DX11 features such as tessellation, compute shaders and multi-threading, it provides modern-day results and is available as a free download.
The synthetic 3DMark benchmark starts by giving us an interesting set of results. The Standard preset is clearly more CPU reliant, as the GS30 laptop isn't quite able to keep up with our overclocked desktop. The Extreme preset, however, puts the onus on the graphics card and shows the GS30 to be a match for a high-end desktop.
