Benchmarks: Power Draw and Battery Life
Taking into account the 47W CPU and dual 75W GPUs, it's no surprise to find that the X7 Pro is the most power-hungry system on show. And make no mistake, the battery-life caveat that applied to early X7 models is still very much in evidence here.
To gauge real-world longevity, we loop a 720p movie clip with 50 per cent screen brightness and all wireless radios disabled. In this scenario, the X7 Pro succumbs to hibernation in less than two-and-a-half hours, which is simply disappointing for a modern-day laptop priced at Ā£2,000.
Worth noting, also, that while the Intel CPU featured in the X7 Pro comes equipped with Iris Pro integrated graphics, the IGP isn't used due to the laptop's SLI configuration. The Nvidia graphics chips drive the display outputs at all times.
