In performance terms, the X7 Pro's storage array is technically a downgrade over the X7 v2 - the older system's three 128GB M.2 SSDs lead the way when hooked-up in a RAID0 array.

That said, you'll be hard-pushed to tell the difference, and all things considered, we prefer the dual 256GB setup of the X7 Pro. The extra capacity is more useful, we feel, and with only the two drives there's less chance of failure.
