Quad-core Intel Haswell processors are a mainstay in today's best gaming laptops and the level of performance on offer can be quite extraordinary.

The Aorus x7 v2 benchmarks right where expected in single-threaded PiFast, however it's ever-so-slightly off the pace in the demanding, multi-threaded Cinebench and HandBrake tests. Checking our benchmark logs reveals the reason: all-core speed is throttled from 3.3GHz to 3.1GHz near end of the run to help keep temperatures in check.
