3DMark 2001SE first, the fan's favourite.
Nearly 10K from MR9600, despite looking a bit poor against the Radeon 9800XT, still puts down quite a mark for mobile graphics. We've long said that anything over 6000 3DMarks, in 2001SE, marks good performance for DX8 applications. The MR9600 is quite capable of that score, even with AA and AF applied, at 1024x768, so playing the vast majority of titles on the Time should be just fine. Our other benchmarks should show similar levels of performance, compared to 9800XT.
More of the same, just with some CPU scaling intervening to drop us just below the 50% mark.
It looks embarassing for the MR9600, but believe me, it holds its own against its mobile peers very well. Look out for MR9600 vs FX Go5700 soon in a separate article, to confirm.
