Starting off with the single-threaded HEXUS.PiFast test, Atom's performance isn't great. The Seashell beats out the same-model Atom in the Wind due to the slight overclock on the chip - 1.68GHz vs. 1.60GHz.

Matters look better when the HyperThreading on the chip comes out to play in the dual-threaded 7-zip compression test.

Here we're using VLC to playback a couple of H.264-encoded trailers of Terminator Salvation. The differences lie with resolution and bit-rate, and whilst the two Atom chips aren't stressed to the maximum, bit-rate spikes cause the non-GPU-accelerated test to corrupt and stutter at 720p.
