Screen and size
Even under load the Wind U120H is practically inaudible, and probably would be if shipped with an SSD drive. Segueing slightly, a couple of speakers, located at the front and on each corner, produce bass-light sound but that's to be expected on a machine of this size.
The screen, a 10in model with a 1,024x600 native resolution, is surrounded by a relatively thin bezel that keeps the Wind's aesthetics cool. The built-in webcam has been upgraded this time, to either a 1.3MP or 2MP model, and it can be used in conjunction with the pre-installed Easy Face login feature that takes a snap of your mug and then matches it up when logging back in. It's fun, sure, and works well enough, but we'd rather MSI invest in a fingerprint reader if true security is the purpose of the application.
Super-bright and sharp, the LCD is a good fit for a netbook of this size, but what we'd give to have an 11.1in, 1,366x768 panel as found in high-end Sony TTs. Still, web-browsing and general usage is fine, and the Wind ships with a price that's roughly one-fifth of the cheapest VAIO TT.
Lined up together on one side, the Wind is substantially smaller than a Dell XPS M1330, middle, and PC Specialist 15.4in laptop, bottom. But you knew that, right?
