Surface Laptop 3 isn't really a gaming solution, yet AMD and Intel are both eager to extol the virtues of their latest onboard graphics solutions, so it makes sense to put the laptop's gaming capabilities to the test. As expected, gameplay at the native 2,496x1,664 resolution proved to be too large a challenge.

Dropping the resolution to 1,620x1,080 in order to maintain the 3:2 aspect ratio, we were able to run some games at their lowest available quality settings with passable results. Getting the desired 60 frames per second requires a further drop in resolution, but 30fps is attainable in most titles, and we're fascinated by the topsy-turvy results. Some games favour one architecture more than the other, but either way, both IGPs offer only casual gaming credentials.
