Benchmarks: Vitals and Battery Life

You'd expect high-ish average power draw due to Dell keeping the all-core frequency nice and lofty. That's matched by the X1 Yoga-like temperature. We're not concerned with the 83°C average because it is well within the remit of the chip and, more importantly, the chassis doesn't become too warm to the touch.

We've previously noticed that 8th Gen Core-equipped Ultrabooks don't fare so well in the battery rundown test. With the auto-brightness feature disabled in BIOS, the Dell XPS 13 9370 produces a 12-hour-plus time - the first to do so when using the Core i7-8550U processor. That 52Whr battery may not be big by modern standards, of course, yet Dell has optimised it well.
