Benchmarks: Gaming
Is it really worth having the GeForce 940MX? A score of 651 is the lowest we can recall seeing from a dedicated GPU in the 3DMark Time Spy stress test. The score is roughly double that of the Intel IGP, yet the gain isn't enough to make a meaningful fist of real-world gaming.
Playing a handful of modern titles with quality settings dialled down to low, the 940MX struggles to achieve playable framerates at the native full-HD resolution. Heck, even dropping the resolution right down to 1,280x720 isn't enough to obtain the desired 60 frames per second. There's probably just enough GPU grunt to play older, less-taxing titles such as CSGO, but it is never going to be a high-quality experience.
