Review: MSI GT72VR 7RE Dominator Pro

Intel's Core i7-7700HQ has become the standard bearer for performance laptops in 2017, though don't expect lofty performance gains over previous-generation counterparts. Some older laptops are factory overclocked, and subsequently beat the GT72VR in single-threaded PiFast, while the multi-threaded results are stifled by the MSI machine's inability to maintain peak speeds. Our logs reveal that CPU frequency dipped to 3.2GHz during the more strenuous workloads.
