Half-Life 2

Half Life 2 is tested in both single and dual GPU situations, in both AFR and SFR modes. AFR is the SLI mode of choice in the 66.93 driver. You'll soon see that it's an odd choice.

The MSI hardware shadows the reference hardware within a very small margin of error, as you'd expect.

Half-Life 2 AFR

The MSI boards are ever so slightly quicker in single board mode than the reference hardware was, but it's absolutely neck and neck with SLI.

Gains to be had

Half Life 2 Gains

With the MSI boards slightly faster in the single board case, the absolute gains in SLI mode, compared to the reference hardware, are smaller. Again the 6600 GT pairings have more to gain than the more CPU limited 6800 GT, but that's not enough to recommend them over a single 6800 GT if you're using SLI as an upgrade path.
