Power, Temperature and Noise
Power efficiency is part of the appeal of Nvidia's Pascal architecture. Heightened out-the-box frequencies do increase system-wide power draw compared to the Founders Edition, yet the GTX 1070 FTW comes in at a respectable 225W.
We've seen the same cooler strut its stuff on the GTX 1080 and it works perfectly well here. EVGA's custom design has no trouble keeping core temperature to 75ºC on a warm day, and it strikes an enviable balance between temperature and noise.
Yep, the card is silent when idle and, when the fans do swing into gear, they remain barely noticeable. Efficient, reasonably cool and satisfyingly quiet. Just the way we like it.
