3DMark is the latest version of this hugely-popular synthetic benchmark. Making use of DX11 features such as tessellation, compute shaders and multi-threading, it provides modern-day results and is available as a free download.

Did anyone expect it not to top the charts of every benchmark when compared to other single GPUs?

Though we include it for reference, you might as well forget looking at benchmark results at 1080p. We use a 4.4GHz all-core-clocked Core i7-6700K chip... but even that's not fast enough to get the most out of Titan X.

Percentage wise, looking at 4K (Ultra), Titan X is 31 per cent faster than GTX 1080 FE and about 25 per cent speedier than a well-implemented partner card.
