Xpand Rally

Next up is the nifty looking driving game, Xpand Rally. We're benchmarking here using a custom recorded replay and FRAPS. Graphical settings were all set to their highest in-game.

The GeForce 6600GT and Radeon X700 PRO find themselves basically neck and neck here, with the X700 finding itself with a small advantage. The NX6600 lags behind somewhat, but still puts in a decent showing framerate wise.

The X700 wins out here on account of its 256MB of video RAM, while the other two boards find themselves simply running out of frame buffer and facing the nightmare that is texturing across the system bus. The NX6600 puts in a playable performance at 1024x768 with anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering, which is just the kind of settings most users will be looking to use with the current generation of mid-range cards.
